We at Natural Habitat Landscapes Wollongong, love creating outdoor playspaces for kids. We have been designing, creating and building natural outdoor play spaces for children for many years.
We have noticed a rapid increase in schools, preschools and daycare centres wanting to revamp their outdoor spaces to aid development, education, play and exploration over the last year. The focus has been on play spaces using natural materials like sandstone, bamboo, logs, pebbles, timber, water and plants interspersed with opportunities for creative play - outdoor kitchens, musical instruments, sand pits, arbours, tunnels, stages, yarning circles and meandering paths as well as traditional play equipment - slides, climbing frames and see saws.
We work closely with educators, principals, parents and teachers to design and construct outdoor playspaces that meet and exceed the needs of the children and teachers. Having 3 very active children of our own at primary school and daycare age, we understand not only what teachers, principals and parents are asking for, but also what children are drawn to and enjoy.
There are many governments grants available for schools, daycare centres and preschools that can help to fund natural, educational and fun playspaces for children in the Wollongong area. The Quality Learning Environments Program is just one that is currently available via the NSW Department of Education.
