UNANDERRA PUBLIC SCHOOL

We were engaged by Unanderra Public School to design and construct a Yarning Circle in time to celebrate NAIDOC Week. We designed the space in collaboration with the teachers, students and local Aboriginal Community.

Four curved pathways lead to the centrepiece of this design, the Yarning Circle, a space to communicate, collaborate, show respect, listen, learn and engage.

The Yarning Circle and its surrounds are constructed using sandstone, timber logs, corten metal edging, and crushed granite. The carefully selected and thoughtfully installed native plants make this space extra special, along with the beautiful artwork created by the local Aboriginal Community.
